Apple Charging Case

Recently, I received the Apple charging case from a friend, in the gray color. The cases come in so many gorgeous colors.

At first, I was so excited because I could charge my phone, and it wasn't a bulky phone case. It was easy to slip on and off my phone, and it quickly registered with my phone. By telling me what the case battery was at, and what my phone battery was at. Is the case worth $99? Let me tell you about my experience.

First, charging the phone was super easy, especially if you are a beginner with technology, and your not tech savvy. However, when my phone reached 100% I was not allowed to turn it off. It just kept charging my phone, which in the long run, it's not good for your battery life. I researched and tried to figure out a way to turn it off, and the best method I came across was cutting a piece of paper to fit the charging port. That way the charger couldn't go fully into the iPhone, so it wouldn't charge. But, that didn't seem like the best method. After an hour of researching, there is no way to turn the charger off. So you can't charge when you want to.

Second, I learned that this charging case definitely maximizes your battery percentage, and use, but the case overheats. My first day with the case, I went to get my nails done. As soon as I picked up my phone to my surprise my phone was burning hot to the touch, and I immediately dropped it. The phone was overheating, and so was the battery case. I took my phone out of the case, and it quickly cooled down. It was a sigh of relief. I was genuinely worried that my phone might explode, or something bad would happen to it, but not to worry it was ok. That was the last time I used the case.

Third, the actual material that the phone case is made out of is rubber. So, it is slippery. I never felt like I could maintain control of the phone, I always felt like it was going to slip out of my hands at any moment. Which it did end up doing multiple times. There is not a raised bumper on the front of the case, so the phone is pretty vulnerable to anything it lands on. Luckily I had a screen protector on, so I only got a few scratches and it wasn't even to the actual phone screen.

Overall, I would save your money and consider investing in something else. If you really want a chargeable phone case, I would recommend the "Mophie Juice Pack Air".

Which you can control how long it charges for, AND you can turn the charger on and off whenever you want.
